So I've been super busy with work, Uni and family things.
My mum had Meningitis a while ago, and is now pretty much deaf but they're still going to be trying different hearing aids but it's a bit pointless really. She doesn't mind though. She might also have to take early retirement, but again doesn't mind and instead sees it as an oppourtunity to do something new.
Since the last time I've reviewed
and
Aenir by Garth Nix
So feel free to check them out!
I'm working on lots of Uni things at the moment, but I'll try to get this up to date again >__<
When I'm not doing work, I'm playing games! I got a PSP recently which is awesome, and of course the new Sonic game came out Friday (my boyfriend has already finished it btw lol) and I'm halfway through that. I've also got myself a fantastic job in a shoe shop, lovely people, great pay, good hours. Brilliant.
Also, there is a wild mouse living in my room right now O__O she's very sweet and I've been leaving out a plate of crunchy nut cornflakes for her to nibble so she'll leave wire alone, which is working nicely. Atleast until I get a humane trap tomorrow. I refuse to kill something when it probably believes that I'm living in it's house lol.
I have a new review up, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,
I got some old games today ^__^ aaah nostalgia! I got Ratchet and Clank, Jak 3 and Rayman 3 (well Jez got it as a present but shush!), plus Klonoa which I've never played, for the PS2.
It was also my friend's birthday meal tonight and it was super yummy and fun as all things concerning Lydia are! She gave me a wonderful shawl for Christmas and I gave her porn of course! I gave her Sensitive Pornograph (yaoi manga) which is also one of her fav animes.
I havn't been able to get on here due to not having a laptop for the past couple of weeks! My cable broke so I had to order a new one from the manufacturer and it took a while. All the post seems to be taking a while right now! I ordered Chirstmas presents and I'm now slightly concerned that they won't arrive in time.
I have handed in all my Uni work *phew* so I have free time again!
Which means,

I've done two reviews for Otaku News, and I have a third to write this week (on The Girl Who Leapt Through Time).
You can read them here

I finished it today, I think it took roughly 8 hours? I found the combat really hard, and it really pissed me off T_T that and the fact that Faith tended to be a retard when it came to grabbing things that were 2 inches in front of her face. But! I did love the ending, I loved the credits and theme song (I hope everyone watched the whole credits!!) I love the character design of Faith, I felt attatched to her and I do want to play the next games and follow her story. The game is quite short, but I like that, you get long enough to feel that you know the story and characters, but not so long that the story feels like it's being dragged out. I also thought the final boss was awesome and fit the game really well. I love the extras, the unlockables and all that, and the races are very fun to play when you just want to run about. Like I said, I found the combat difficult, but once I'd finished the game I felt really accomplished, and I havn't gotten that feeling from a game for quite some time.
So, I havn't updated in a while. Why? Because the lectures have all seemed entirely pointless. I have nothing against the people, they themselves are fin, and probably rather interesting to alot of people. However, I do not want to do journalism. I don't mind writing reviews, especially for Otaku News, but other than that I'm not interested. After Uni I plan to get a decent enough job to pay bills and give me a little extra cash so I can buy the things I love, and I will write my stories and scripts in my spare time and work toward getting those published.
Toward publication should be about ALL forms of publication, not just journalism. I feel a little let down. We have not been told ANYTHING about getting scripts published. Why?
We learn how to respond to editorial comments this week T_T
Week 5
My 'ladder' consists of:-
Graduate Uni
Get a decent job (I don't particularly mind where, but I would want to work with people, albiet in an office or in a shop, just not something like factory work!)
Write in spare time
Publish something (script or story)
Get kittens
Week 6
I looked up some competitions, but upon realising that most require me to pay to enter, I decided to skip out on those for now. I will enter some on the next trip round, and keep checking in to see what's happening. Some are so specific about storys and some are very vauge, where are the inbetweenies?
Week 7
We were making up our own newspaper this week, I wrote a review of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I suppose I was supposed to review the single episode, but it evolved into a review of the show itself. Oh well, it seemed more interesting to me anyway.
Bahaha! Lydia is sitting beside me eating Jaffacakes and doodling, Jezzii is playing Megaman 9 and playing Sonic soundtracks, and I am...here!
Hope everyone had a lovely Halloween! I went to the cinema because it was my housemates birthday. We saw Quantum of Solace (or Something of Boris) which was boring as all James Bond films are. Only good thing was that the girl reminded me of Jade (BG&E) and also didn't have sex with Bondy!! Woot! Bond isn't as suave as he thinks. I'd throw a cocktail in his face! And steal his gadgets. Which reminds me, where are the gadgets? What happened to the quips?! It's just another action movie now. Pft.
I need to do more prose writing, script writing and general Uni work >______________< I DONT WANT TO BE A JOURNALIST!!! Stupid Uni course making me write articles D= Oh wellies, I am going to submit reviews for my folder anyway >.>
Also, look what I made!
I don't want to write articles. I hate writing articles. I don't like the style nor the demands. I've written them before, I used to work on the school newpaper and do them for class etc, and I just detest it. I love to write reviews though, it's the only form of journalism I like.
Bah!

My review is up and I'm now part of the Otaku News team!!
I've been back in Bath for a while, but have been busy with Uni work and unable to update.
I've now got a news account at Otaku News and they are putting up my review of Haibane Renmei!
I'm also currently working on two scripts, a piece of prose, a poem, another poem for my niece and nephews, drawings and also my comic strip. Some of this is Uni work, but seeing as I do Creative Writing I don't really class it as work lol
I got Fable on Friday and finished it today! It was very good and I really enjoyed it. Compared to the first game, it's a definate improvement (obviously). The graphics have improved of course (seeing as it's on the 360) but also the cut scenes are much sharper because the people don't look like clunky polygons hinged together who end up looking like rather terrifying potatoes in a human suit. The FMVs are beautiful, the music is also very nice though not as awesome as I've hear people claiming. Though that isn't to say there's anything wrong with it, it's just that most of the time I didn't really notice the music. Also, I heard people complaining that the ending wasn't good, that it was boring etc. Where do people get these ideas from? I thought the ending was really good! It was different, which is important. I'm not going to give anything away though, I would hate to spoil it for anyone still playing. Though I will say, that I loved that they set it up for a third! Which they had better make!
Lionhead have always been very good, so I wasn't surprised by how much I loved the game, and how well done it was. A small part of me wished that the characters had been more attractive (especially my female hero) but then I'm used to the people looking the way they do, and I always appreciate that Lionhead make their characters look more realistic, compared to most games. There are no waif thin girls with breasts large enough to block out the sun. Instead there are horny old men and whores asking if you'd "like a roll in the hay". I would'nt expect anything less from Lionhead.
